The goal of our EM Residency is to train emergency physicians to be competent and capable of working in a variety of clinical settings. The Inspira Health Network Emergency Medicine Residency Program is a three year accredited program. The program is currently approved for eight training positions per training year.
The Jane and Peter Galetto, Jr. Simulation Center at Inspira Medical Center Vineland is a state-of-the-art training and education center. It is the newest facility of its kind in the region, offering area health care providers advanced learning opportunities for the delivery of medical care in a safe and controlled setting.
Every July, the incoming interns go through an intern orientation month that exposes them to all the aspects of the ED and the hospital logistics. A full schedule of clinical experience, ACLS, ATLS, PALS and orientation lectures is provided and interns learn bread and butter EM. We also provide free time and social events to allow new residents to get settled and acquainted. Orientation includes airway labs, procedure labs, introduction to ultrasound, and clinical experience at Inspira.
Journal Club is a monthly event for the review and critical appraisal of key publications of importance to the practice of Emergency Medicine. Papers chosen for review at Journal Club represent important, influential, and landmark publications of wide interest. Both faculty members and residents attend each Journal Club and they are led by a resident that summarizes the discussion and determinations that are reached.
Due to increasing burnout among physicians nationwide, Inspira has created a Resident Wellness Committee. This dual attending/resident run committee focuses on preventing burnout, organizing get-togethers, and providing resources to treat burnout. We hold weekly talks during didactic lectures to promote well being and engage in resident volunteering activities to better serve the community.

Additionally, Philadelphia, recently earning the ranking of 2nd best place to visit this year by US News & World Report is a world class city with endless opportunities to explore and find things to do, and enjoy world class food.
